RENTON PAVILION

Location:  Renton, Washington
Type:  On The Boards

Built in 1948 as an auto dealership facility with expansive bowstring trusses, the Renton Pavilion has been operating as an events center since its modernization in 2004. Now, as part of a broader revitalization effort by the City of Renton, the Pavilion is being reimagined as the crown jewel of the urban center. Graham Baba is redesigning the Pavilion to be home to a new public market, which will include over a dozen small incubator tenants, two larger restaurant spaces, and upgraded support areas and utilities. Improved finishes and lighting will brighten the large central space, and direct attention back to the original wood ceiling. The dynamic mix of businesses and community events held in the Renton Pavilion will activate the downtown area and connection to the adjacent public plaza and recreation.
