ASSEMBLY HALL AT VIA 6

Location:   Downtown - Seattle, WA
Type:   Commercial
Status:   Completed in 2013

Assembly Hall, operated by the Tom Douglas restaurant group, is an exciting urban marketplace that opened in June of 2013. Located at Sixth and Lenora in downtown Seattle, Assembly Hall is inspired by an open farmer’s market. The 10,000 square foot interior concourse design features TanakaSan American Asian Pub, Assembly Hall Juice and Coffee, and Home Remedy, a market and deli, as well as a bread bakery, a flower store and a shopping gallery, all anchoring the ground floor of the new 654-unit Via 6 apartment complex. On a mezzanine level above, there is a game room and gathering space that are a part of the restaurant and bar and an extension of the apartment dwellers’ home. This open, indoor market “streetscape” connects the residents to the activity of Sixth Avenue with steel and glass partitions, partial height walls and folding doors that open onto a long skinny heated patio. Residents and visitors get a close up view of the cooking and baking operations, which also serves to bring them together as a community.
