PIKE MOTORWORKS RETAIL
Location: Capitol Hill - Seattle, Washington
Multiple site parcels are stitched together to create this cohesive development that touches each street surrounding the block, yet occupies only one corner. The historic 1926 facade of the former BMW showroom serves as one of four mid-block entries to internal public connectors. These urban passages are lined with live work units, commercial and retail spaces, and entries to the 260 residential units above. The ground level is a flexible open volume with 22’ ceiling heights, reclaimed wood columns and beams, and exposed steel elements. A large south-facing courtyard creates opportunities for outdoor seating.
